Fit Tether

Support

Set up and control a Galaxy Fit3 from an iPhone.

If something is not working, start with "When it will not connect" below. If that does not help, write to support@beatapper.com.

What you need

A Samsung Galaxy Fit3 (SM-R390) and an iPhone running iOS 18 or later. Bluetooth only works on real hardware, so the Simulator cannot be used.

Setting up

  1. If the band is connected to Galaxy Wearable on an Android phone, disconnect that first. The band holds only one connection at a time.
  2. Open Fit Tether and allow Bluetooth.
  3. Tap "Look for a band".
  4. With a band in its factory state, iOS shows a pairing prompt part way through — approve it.
  5. At the end of the first-run sequence the app writes a flag saying the terms have been accepted, and the band reaches its home screen. The activity log records that it was written.
  6. After that, leave it to reconnect on its own. The activity log is in the top right if you want the detail.

There is no terms-and-conditions dialog. The text of those terms is Samsung's own document, which this app does not have, and the app uses neither a Samsung account nor any network. What is written to the band is only a local flag that lets it leave the pairing screen, and the app says so on screen and in the log.

When it will not connect

The band is not found
Is Galaxy Wearable on an Android phone still connected? The band holds only one connection, so disconnect that side first. Taking the band off the charger and waking its screen also helps.
No pairing prompt appears
It only appears for a band in its factory state. A band that has already been set up connects without pairing, and so does one this iPhone has paired with before.
It disconnects part way, or setup never finishes
Put the band on the charger, take it off again, restart the app and retry. If it keeps happening, send us the activity log.
It keeps trying to connect and never gets there
The pairing record iOS keeps for the band can get in the way, and nothing in the app can clear it — the Forget button in the app only drops the band this app remembers. Open Settings › Bluetooth, tap the ⓘ next to the band, choose Forget This Device, then connect again from the app. If the pairing prompt appears, approve it — an already set-up band often reconnects without one.
The band stays disconnected after a restart or an app update
After you restart your iPhone, after the app updates, and after you swipe the app away in the App Switcher, the band can stay disconnected until you open the app once. Opening it is all it takes. After a restart, iOS cannot wake the app until you have unlocked the phone with your passcode for the first time. The same goes for turning Bluetooth off and on in Settings — open the app once afterwards. Returning to the Home Screen, or iOS terminating the app itself, is recovered from automatically. This is how iOS works and is the same for other apps of this kind.
Notifications from other apps do not appear on the band
Notification forwarding is not supported. iOS gives no app a way to read another app's notifications — not this app, not any iPhone app, for any band.
Steps and heart rate are not syncing
Health data syncing is not supported.
I cannot install a new watch face
Face files travel over Bluetooth Classic, a separate channel that iOS does not open to third-party apps. Firmware updates are unavailable for the same reason. Switching between the faces already on the band, and changing a face's colour style, both work.
I cannot control Spotify or YouTube
Only the built-in Music app can be controlled. iOS provides no way to reach another app's playback. The band's volume slider cannot change the iPhone's volume either.
I changed a setting on the band and the app still shows the old value
The app does not poll, to save both batteries. Bring the app to the foreground, or press "Refresh" on the band settings screen, and it catches up.
The band's display language reverts to English
The app sends the language chosen under "Band display language" on every connection. If that is left unset, the band can fall back to its own default.

Reporting a problem

The band's firmware version, your iOS version, and the activity log from the top right of the app make the cause much easier to find. The log is diagnostic text, always in English, and contains no account or contact details.

⚠️ It does include the first 48 bytes of each packet in hexadecimal, so with calendar sync on it can carry part of an event's text in that form. Please read it before sending.
