No Android phone needed — from first setup to everyday use, an iPhone is enough.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit3 (SM-R390) expects an Android phone as its companion. Fit Tether is an independent, unofficial app that does that job from an iPhone instead. It takes a band out of the box and through its first-run setup, then handles watch faces, the band's own settings, media controls and your calendar over Bluetooth.
Coming soon to the App Store
What it does
- Sets up a band straight out of the box — pairing, the first-run sequence, and the clock
- Keeps the time in sync and reconnects on its own when you come back into range, even from the background
- Changes the band's display language
- Switches watch faces, including the colour styles of a face
- Reads and writes the band's own settings — brightness, Always On Display, raise wrist to wake, vibration, and more
- Shows battery level and whether the band is being worn
- Media controls — play, pause and skip the built-in Music app from the band's media tile
- This week's schedule on the band's calendar tile
- Find my phone — rings your iPhone from the band, even through the Ring/Silent switch
- Available in 15 languages
What it cannot do
Please read this before downloading. Each of these is an iOS limitation — no iPhone app can do them, for any band.
Notifications from other apps are not forwarded. iOS gives no app a way to read another app's notifications.
Health data — steps, heart rate, sleep — is not synced.
New watch faces cannot be installed and the band's firmware cannot be updated. Those files travel over Bluetooth Classic, which iOS does not open to third-party apps.
About reconnecting
Day to day this is automatic: send the app to the Home Screen, walk out of range and come back, and the link returns on its own. The exceptions are after you restart your iPhone, after the app updates, and after you swipe the app away in the App Switcher — the band can stay disconnected until you open the app once, and opening it is all it takes. Support has the details.
The hardware is required
A Samsung Galaxy Fit3 (SM-R390). The app does nothing without one.
Privacy
The app has no network code at all. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing leaves your iPhone except over the direct Bluetooth link to your own band. See the privacy policy for the details.
